This book enjoyed a brief stop in San Jose, CA before continuing its travels in the Manga Bookbox!
The first five books from this series came home in the From the Beginning manga bookbox; many thanks!
Later: Just when I thought the series couldn't go any farther... {wry grin}. For some reason, the main characters continue to hang out with Fukuyama, who never disappoints; here, he suggests a game of Very Special Strip Mahjong, where the tiles have instructions like "Take off clothes". While I wasn't all that interested in the game, which resulted in everyone but Fukuyama winding up in undies or cosplay, I *was* amused at the very last round; Fukuyama actually lost, and had to fulfill his own bet that the loser would have to parade around the neighborhood in whatever they were wearing at the end. He had on a very fetching bunny-maid outfit - and of course was perfectly happy to be admired by all the neighbors, the narcissist!
A later subplot involves everyone having a personality reversal for a while; another features ghosts; and, finally, there's a really charming chapter in which a little child dressed as a snow rabbit wanders among our gang, having lost its mother. [The reader will figure out what's happened long before the characters do.] The snow-rabbit-child is simply adorable, and I rather liked the less-frenetic pace of this chapter.
Volume One
Volume Two
Volume Three
Volume Four
Volume Five
[There's a TV Tropes page for the series, with comments on the manga and on the anime.]
