I've borrowed these rules from nmarshall88

Here are the rules:

1. When you receive the book, make a journal entry so we all get the thrill of knowing where it's at.

2. Read the book, within 30 days, and make a journal entry to tell us what you have thought about the book. You can be as brief or as lengthy as you wish with your thoughts about the book.
Please remember, that there are many anxious readers patiently waiting to read the book after you. Please bear this in mind! If you tend to be a slow reader, like myself, and need the month to finish the book, please make a periodic journal entry indicating how far you are into the story, or thoughts about what you have read so far. This way we know that the book has not been forgotten in your ‘to-be-read’ pile.

3. Send a private message (PM) to the next person in line for their address. If they do not respond within three days, PM them again. If they do not respond within a week of your first message, PM the person after them and contact me.

4. When you are ready to send the book to the next person in line, make release notes/a journal entry to say when the book is leaving your hands and who'll be catching it next, and pop it into the post!

5. To the last person on the list: Please PM me and I will send you my mailing address:)

Thank you for participating!

***When you receive a PM from the person before you, letting you know that you are next in line, and you find yourself overwhelmed with book commitments,(or just life in general) Please PM me and I may be able to move you farther down the list.

Valhalla Rising arrived today, safe and sound! Looks like it will be good and exciting. I am now finishing up on a "filler" book (between bookrings) and am eager to start on this one. Thank you for the opportunity to read another book about Dirk Pitt and his adventures!

Hello. Just wanted all to know that this book has not been sitting idle on my TRB shelf. I have been enjoying reading it and have about 60 pages (out of 537) left to go.

Being a Dirk Pitt fan, it has been an enjoyable read though not as much as others I have read. A bit melodramatic in spots with Dirk rushing in to save the day at the very last second.

The history of the Vikings was fun, the reference to the Confederate submarine "Hunley" was timely (There was a recent burial of one of the occupants in real life.), and one scenario that sadly pointed to the book's outdatedness.

The conflict in the book is not resolved yet in my reading, so I will have to journal again.

This book was sent out in the mail on Thursday, April 15th. Instead of me drowning in the flood waters, the book was in the midst of the IRS flood that day!

The the major portion of the conflict resolution was not hard to figure. However, was a bit disappointed in the non-event at the very end of the "battle". Enjoyed the travels back to the Vikings in the end yet didn't seem to tie in too much with the story. Wondering if there is a bit of foreshadowing with the young man showing up in the end. We shall see.

Again, a timely report of the Confederate submarine, the "Hunley" was in the papers last week. I enjoy real life tie-ins to books I am reading! Makes life more interesting.

So just where is this book currently residing? It has not gotten a new journal entry in over a year and its fate is unknown. It was sent out so long ago on a bookring journey that has yet to be completed.

The Lost Book Island invites this book to come and stay at our luxurious resort until its whereabouts can be sorted out and a new journal entry comes to tell us all its story from this past year.

This book will be given the opportunity to grab some shade under a palm tree for rest and relaxation while also enjoying fun in the sun on our endless streatches of beach. It is hoped that this book will also take advantage of one of our map reading classes that could help it to find out which direction to head in next.

It is hoped that this book will get the chance to move along soon and rejoin the bookring journey that it once started out on those many long months ago.

Are you sure you want to delete this item? It cannot be undone.
