What a lot of fun~!! :-D
It makes me want to visit Ireland even more.
Because of a bet a big adventure begins, for a man and his small fridge.
Spreading joy, laughter, pointlessness and general good old fashioned fun!

Got this today, thank you!
This book wasn't quite the laugh-out-loud tale I was expecting, but it was still very funny. I think part of my problem was that so much of the humor was alcohol-related. Having an extended family that overindulges at pretty much every gathering takes a lot of the shock factor away and makes events seem a lot less zany. My reaction tended to be a "So? That's what happens when you overdo it" or "Eh, could have gotten worse" to a lot of the drinking jokes. I'd have liked to see more of a focus on the little mini-cultures Hawks keeps coming across in obscure towns, those observations were the things I found most amusing and they fit in better with the travel narrative. Still, I read it quickly and found it entertaining.
Send out as a RABCK. Enjoy!
Even the title makes me smile! Thanks for the RABCK, emmejo.
UPDATE: I really enjoyed this book. The understated British humor made me laugh out loud in some parts, and the descriptions of the Irish people made me want to book a flight so I could experience their friendliness and wit in person.
All in all, a great read :-)
