I can automatically feel that a book will be good just by knowing that Queen Elizabeth I is in it. She has a minor role in this one, but she is, nevertheless, in it, and my intuition served me right again. A great book with druids living underground, a kidnap and an escape- oh- it's just a good one, take my word for it.

Warsaw/Poland - I just got this in the mail today from Czersk. Hopefully I'll be able to start it soon; it looks good! :-)

Warsaw/Poland - Fantastic book...I picked it up Sunday afternoon and didn't put it down until I was finished. I love the Fairy Folk. They seemed like a real civilization, not just these little mystical glowing things as they do in some books. They had customs, and society, and history, wonderful stuff. And the descriptions of their clothes...I've always wondered exactly what fairies wore and it was described fantastically in this book. The plot started out seemingly predictable, I'm not saying it turned out to be completely innovative, but it definitely wasn't a dime a dozen type of book. Kate, the main character, is lovely, I like the fact that she is tall and clumsy, reminds me of someone.......me! She's a strong character though and I adore books with strong female characters that end up saving the day instead of letting the knight in shining armor have all the fun. :-P

I'm passing this on to Scrawler tomorrow during school. She's kind of busy so I don't know when she'll manage to read it but I'm pretty sure she'll love it.

So far this book is pretty gripping...I haven't been able to put it down! The best thing about it is that Kate seems to have a lot of personality. It's a relief since most of the books I've read recently have had main characters that were seriously lacking in personality!

Ok, finished now...I liked this book. I liiked the characters a lot, especially Master John. He seemed like a fantastic, original villain, you know, not very obviously evil. I really liked the fact that the fairies weren't portrayed as good, and I liked the little bit about them not having hearts so they can't feel pity. It was a good story, easy to follow. Sometimes I didn't like the choice of words to describe things but that's really my only complaint.

Off to bronwen316 in the states now! Enjoy!

This is a great book! The characters are very real and lively. It's very refreshing to read a book with a strong female lead who's not whiny.

You get the sense that this could be the way Fairy Folk lived (and still do).

Off to Catwoman in Canada

Enjoyable story. I like the fact that nothing is too extreme - no one is really, really good; no one is really, really evil. Somewhat predictable ending, but overall a good read. Ready to finish the ring!

THE RING IS FINISHED!!!! It's my first finished ring ever, so I'm excited. The book looks great, everyone took good care of it, and now it's going back on my shelf . . . That hardly seems like a seemly life for a traveler, though, does it? Maybe I'll release it . . .
