When the historic Hopkins ferry is raised from the lake, a skeleton is discovered. Unfortunately, the only evidence is a piece of lace-like fabric. But once Betsy Devonshire and the patrons of her needlecraft shop lend a hand, they're sure to stitch together the details of this mystery...

Nice cozy mystery but I think I liked the first part of the series better - still I want to read more of these.

Sending this to Kirjakko in the European Wishlist - tag, along with another book sometimes during this summer!
I used to like lace-work at school, but since then.... And me poor hands and eyes aren't what they used to be. Got my first reading glasses two days ago (I can read normal font, but not what they print on some medicines) and my fingers are pointing to wrong directions since I took my dog's sister to a show and she was not walking without pulling - hard.
Looking forward to reading this.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
I've forgot to journal that I tagged Tanamo with this book, then quickly read it to be able to post it from Edinburgh. I have to say that I read far too many books before my trip, just to be able to take them over to local bookcrossers I was going to meet. On my return I came down with the mother of all flus which has not made any sharper, but I can safely say that it was a nice read. The book should have arrived already, perhaps we will hear of it soon.
Edit: Came here to say I'm sorry Tanamo had to pay for the postage, because now it has been paid twice. It was a plastic envelope and a rainy day, so all I can think of is that those old-fashioned stamps came loose somewhere along the way.
Edit 2: 6/2018: It is a small world: bookfrogster, who got this book after Tanamo, was one of those bookcrossers I met in Edinburgh...

I have been away in Wales. When I got back there was a card from the postal service asking me to collect a parcel that needed to be signed for. I went to collect it and was told I needed to pay for it as there was no postage on the parcel. Whilst I'm pleased that you tagged me Kirjakko, I am not pleased by the fact that no postage was put on the parcel. I have swapped books with you before without any problem so maybe this was just an oversight. Anyway I hope you are over the flu and feeling better now.
This book was a nice bit of light relief after my previous read. A gentle cosy mystery was just what I needed after the more challenging read of V. S. Naipaul's "A Bend in the River" which is about a very unpleasant character in my opinion. I have the booked earmarked now for someone who has it on their wishlist so it will be travelling again soon.
Mailed to another bookcrosser via the wishlist tag game.
As always the timing of other Bookcrossers is just perfect. This is exactly the kind of book I am in the mood for reading just now. I LOVE books with a bit of crafting action, it always spurs me to do more of whatever my own current craft project is.
Thank you!
Thank you!
So I really enjoyed this. I like how the crafting knowledge was an integral element to solving the crime! I am enjoying getting to know the characters in this series too. I think I will save this and the first one in the series to send as a cosy mystery starter pack for a future tea and mystery sweeps winner who likes these types of books too.
And off it goes to my UK Secret Santa partner. Merry Christmas!!
Thank you very much for this UK Secret Santa book. I am looking forward to reading it!
