Maybe it is a generation thing thing, but I don't remember being so self-aware as all of John Green's characters. I really enjoy his books and he writes teen angst as well as anyone but I am kind of glad that my teen years were during the me, me, me decade of the 80's. I appreciate the fact my angst didn't hit it's stride until I was in my 30's.
I thought the book was really good, and I am looking forward to seeing the movie that is filming now based on the book.

I am sending this out in a trade.
A flash past eyes,
and the guy thinks
it's the long hair of beauty.

I had heard a lot of great things about this book, that's why I wanted it. :)
It wasn't something that particularly sounded all that interesting to me though, so I wasn't sure if I'd wind up liking it or not.
And to be honest, the storyline itself wasn't all that compelling. Probably definitely more interesting to the readers still in highschool. What saved the book was the band of geek friends and their funny personalities. The writer really fleshed life into them and they were a lot of fun to listen to. I liked the concept of papertowns but what actually kept me from yawning was the geek boys. They were great. :)
