I haven't read this yet. The truth is that I have piles and piles of books to get to. I know this is a popular book so I think I'll offer it up on the BookRelay site.

Apparently a catlover has read the book before me--judging from some friendly scratches and a missing corner ;-)

Hmm, I do not know what to think of this and whether I like it or not! The first pages I considerd forwarding the book to the next in the ring without finishing. But then the story did catch me in its web and I wanted to know who did what ;-)
Benefit of the doubt, I'll try another Waters if it (book)crosses my path.
Off to aava now.
14 April 2006: I did give Waters another try, but alas, not my cup of tea.

Well, finally... I read the book and have to say that it was a slight dissappointment. And this is not to say that I did not enjoy it. In a way I felt the plor twist was unreal. Still, I enjoyed very much the atmosphere of the book (foggy London streets) it reminded me of those Gothic novels. And I liked the way Waters showed how similar were the situations of the women in the Victorian era whether they were in prison or outside it. There was really no room of her own to Margaret.
I´ve really kept the book too long :( (holiday )and will send it to Loribee asap. Hope you like it!
