The Pearl
6 journalers for this copy...
Christmas morning, I opened a box to find the most amazing treasures, a pretty scarf, gift cards, chocolates, bags of sample toiletries and a couple books!! I first read "The Pearl" in Junior High, where we dissected the crap out of it. Since then, it has been one of my favourite, most read stories, and it is not very often that I read a book more than once.
It has been an absolute joy to share my Christmas Day with Kino, Juana and little Coyotito!
Thank you for catching this book and coming here to see its journal!
To me, it’s important to be sure this book is in (your!) good hands. Please, let me know that you’ve found it. I’m also interested to know what you thought of it. That’s why I ask you to re-visit the site and make another journal entry sharing your thoughts and maybe telling what kind of plans you have for it.
If you are new to BookCrossing, stay in the site a bit longer and enjoy it. You’re more than welcome to join the fun and become a member.
HAPPY READING!!!
Many thanks, Herchelle

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
Looking forward to the Calgary Bookcrossers Meetup in the morning.
I brought this home with me from the January book crossing meeting. Can't believe how excited I am to read this.
A small book but a powerful story. I think that this is a book I will have to read more then once to truly understand.
Taking this to the February book crossing meeting to pass on to the next reader
Another wonderful BookCrossing meeting with my wonderful BookCrossing friends, thanks guys! Picked this meeting up and am adding it to my TBR pile.
Can't say that I really enjoyed the message behind this book. I mean it was written well and I agree that greed can be negative and cause people to do horrible things but I like to have a more positive outlook and believe that one person can change things and that you should try to fix systems when things are not "fair" or that power is in the hands of a "few". Did not like how much things changed for the worse for our main characters when they tried to "dream big". Perhaps I am missing something in my understanding of the story.
Taking this to Calgary's July meet up.

I picked this up at the July meeting at Cravings. Love the short ones!
Powerful but disturbing story. So sad about how people reacted to their good fortune. A strong commentary about human nature.
This book is ready to head off to the Christmas meet up at Cravings.
This book was passed to me by Fracula when we met for coffee today.
One of my favourite books is back in my hands! I look forward to finding the next reader for this gem!

Sending my wonderful book across the Atlantic to the winner of the recent International RABCK. I hope that you will enjoy this story as much as I have.

Thank you! It's nice to see this book has been to the Calgary meet up. I love to get their bookcrossing alerts, now they will get one of mine :)
The letter you sent with the book was very interesting, I didn't mind at all that it had to be updated slightly :))
I love the postcard and the bookmark.
I have been very lucky and am amazed at your kindness, even keeping me supplied with BC labels and tea!!!

Adding to random bookbox ☺
Enjoy!!
Enjoy!!
This novella was sent to me in a bookcrossing book box circulation. Fascinating story based on a Mexican folk tale. I'm really glad I read this book despite the sad ending. I have returned the book to the book box for the next reader.
