Lindsay Boxer is pregnant at last! But her work doesn't slow down for a second. When millionaire Chaz Smith is mercilessly gunned down, she discovers that the murder weapon is linked to the deaths of four of San Francisco's most untouchable criminals. And it was taken from her own department's evidence locker. Anyone could be the killer - even one of her closest friends.
Lindsay is called next to the most bizarre crime scene she's ever witnessed: two bodiless heads elaborately displayed on the patio of a world-famous actor's home. Five more heads are unearthed in his garden, and Lindsay realizes that the ground may hold hundreds of victims.
A reporter launches a series of vicious articles about the case, and Lindsay's personal life is laid bare. But this time she has no one to turn to - especially not Joe, her husband.

I don't know why, but i was not that much impressed by the book. The fight between Lindsay and her husband was too much and made up and I do not believe, that Lindsay's pregnancy did not affect her at all. There was just one single mentioning, that she is tired, but even a tough cookie like Lindsay has to accept the fact, that being pregnant takes it toll. And the panic at the end of the book was also a little bit too much.
The murder cases with the unknown heads and skulls was strange and for me the reasoning behind was poor. It is just mentioned, that the murderer liked to re-live the original crime with Harry's wife... Sounds fishy to me...
And the cop who likes to bring down drug dealers was an interesting figure but again too good to be true. Anyhow, it was nice entertainment and I will read the next bok, if I get it, but by now the story is worn off...
