My Review: This was a great book! I don't read historical romance often, but I love this author, so I'm glad I gave it a chance. This was the book she wrote right before her wonderful Crossfire series. It answers the question, can you find love with someone who has a dark past.

Not sure what I'll do with this one yet.

This is an erotic romance in a historical setting and it is done pretty well. The story revolves around Jessica, who on the eve of her wedding to Lord Tarley, chances to see Alistair being paid to service a lady in the garden. It is a pivotal moment that will loom large years later when Jessica is the widow of Tarley and Alistair returns to romance her. There is a lot of hot steamy romance here - and it is not just of the bodice-ripping variety. There's a secondary story involving Jessica's sister, Hester, and her husband Lord Regmont and the brother of the late Lord Tarley, Micheal. I liked this story and the steamy bits served to move the action and romance along.
