Interesting fictionalization of the newspapermen covering a trial in Virginia during the 1930s, the height of Yellow Journalism. McCrumb clearly has a chip on her shoulder about media coverage of the rural mountainous South. She has a point, but that bias can be directed other ways also.

Interesting perspective as a young journalist tries, and fails to cover the story in a balanced way, while the Big East Coast ed-u-cated Journalists don't even try to uncover the truth, and refuse to write anything that doesn't reinforce prejudices. Sound like a problem? Still, a good story, and worth reading.
