2 journalers for this copy...
A mixed-race Korean orphan, Elizabeth Kim, watched her uncle and grandfather hang her mother for lying with an American soldier and producing a bastard---her. Left in a Christian orphanage, she was adopted by a Fundamentalist pastor and his wife. Terrified to be sent back to the orphanage, Kim trained herself to be the perfect child. But her Asian features served as a constant reminder that she wasn't good enough for her all-white environment. She married an abusive and controlling man. Running away with her daughter she finally made a life for herself.
Received today! Thanks! This looks like it'll be really good! =)
Too many books! I'll never read them all! Time to clear off some space on my shelves and let other readers enjoy these books. This one just didn't make the cut and I can always find another copy if I want to read it later. Time to find it a new home... =)
