Journal Entry 1 by Martie-Kr from Mentor, Ohio USA on Wednesday, December 31, 2003
This was another good legal mystery by Patterson. Th stories are always rich and flavorful with indeph characterization and good plotlines. Partially from the back: Ricardo Arias is found dead, the gun still wedged in his mouth. It looks like suicide, but the physical evidence strongly suggests murder. The police uncover an estranged wife; an ugly custody batter; charges of child abuse; and a murder suspect: San Francisco defense attorney Christopher Paget. Paget has a motive: it's his son accused of abusing the child, his political future at risk by the dead man's accusations and his alibi is threadbare.
