WILD RELEASE NOTES:
Not sure what I think about this book! Very interesting description of working in conservation in a museum, but I failed ot be moved by the intertwining stories of Catherine and Henry, and Amanda's future theories of conspiracy seemed to be left unresolved ( though that may have been the point). Finally - there is such a thing as the silver swan! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silver_Swan_%28automaton%29, though I don't think the back sotry You can see it in action here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AOXqCuqDOiI

Taking this book to the Perth BC Meetup at Parkerville Tavern today
Picked up today at the Parkerville Tavern where we had our bc meet-up this month. Lunch was delicious and we loved the location too with emu's not too far away and lots of puddles to splash in. Oh how I wish I had brought my wellies too. It was great to catch up with everyone and I'm looking forward to reading this too. Thank you!

I have just realised that I never journaled this book so I'm editing to add my entry in.
I am not too sure about this book …. It's been a while since I read it and I confess it is not one that I enjoyed as much as some of his others. I'm glad I read it, though. Parts of it were quite interesting (especially the Vaucanson Duck and Silver swan (google, google, google! YouTube clips are good! - Thanks KLL!) The characters are brilliant …. not always likable … but brilliantly crafted. For me, the Title worked well for the book.
Thanks for sharing!!

Read this while on a break in WA.
It's the cover of the book that mesmerized me. I find that timing is essential for me to get stuck into a Carey novel! What is it about museums...and clocks?!!
Tick Tock,

This is still with me. I'll be releasing it soon. Thanks so much guinevere69 and everyone …. always good to read your journals.
This is one of the many books that Carole888 has spoiled me with for Christmas! I haven't read any Peter Carey novels, so this intriguing book looks like a good start. Thanks for sending it to me :)
