WILD RELEASE NOTES:
For the "the" release challenge
If you aren't familiar with Bookcrossing, take a few minutes to check out this very cool site. Bookcrossers LOVE books, and more than anything, they love to read books and then set them free for other people to find and enjoy. I would love it if you would leave a journal entry -- you can say where you found the book or how you liked it when you read it. Then, when you are ready, pass it along for someone else to enjoy! Thanks and happy reading!

Received from my friend Nancy... thanks!
This was an easy read with lots of twists and turns to keep me flipping the pages. I had a few minor quibbles, that likely stem from the author's age. Her characterization of younger characters is a bit off. Women in their early 30s tend not to wear clip-on pearl earrings, for example. It is a small thing, but those types of incongruous details jarred me out of the story at times. Also, Clark does not seem to offer as much description of characters and settings as some other mystery writers do, and I find that I miss that.
Nevertheless, she is a master at plotting, even if her storylines do sometimes veer towards the sort of melodrama one might find in a soap opera. Clark managed to win me over and draw me into this book, despite some initial skepticism on my part. If I read another of her books, I think I'll try one of her earlier ones to see what her work was like in the beginning of her career.
