My mom signed me up for this bookbox.
I will be going through it to choose some books from it and pick some new ones for it.

I have taken out the books about Encyclopedia Brown, Advanced YoYo tricks and a Wishbone Mysteries book. I replaced them with three of my own books that I bought for doing some bookcrossing of my own.

Journal Entry 8 by SCOUT-FINCH from Sherman Oaks, California USA on Sunday, March 21, 2004
Wow, looks like this bookbox has had a great amount of turnover..I think we are only sending back one of your original books, cestmoi and driger!
Legomeister is taking out:
The Andalite Chronicles (the beginning of Animorphs) by KA Applegate
The War With Grandpa
Ghost Cadet

and putting in:
Butt-Ugly Martians: the Big Bang Theory
Encyclopedia Brown Tracks them Down (hopefully one Driger hasn't read!) and
A House Called Awful End (the Eddie Dickens Trilogy) by Philip Ardagh..
once we saw that it goes back to Driger next it was easier to select books to put in!
if he decides to take Prince Caspian by CS Lewis we will add one more..his best friend is a total Narnia-head and legomeister hasn't gone there yet, so he was excited to see it in the box, but it's not "#1" in the series so he's not sure about taking it..
Thanks so much for doing this...anyone up for another round, it seems like our boys all have similar taste!

There is a Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone (here its called Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone so this was a novelty for us) but it has no BCID. If whichever of you put it in send me the BCID, I'll put it in..or do you want us to register it?

We just received it in the mail. There are many interesting books. I look foward to finding out what books I will keep. I will feel sad to put some of my books in the box because I have a lot of great memories with these books. (Written by libretto #1)

Books that arrived in the box:
Ticket to Curlew, Tuck Everlasting, Sea Star Orphan of Chincoteague, Stormbreaker, Case of the Impounded Hounds (wishbone), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, The Doggone Detectives, Jingo Django, Prince Caspian (Tales of Narnia), Seniors in Too Deep (R L Stine), Goosebumps The Girl Who Cried Monster, Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, The Golden Compass

Books that we might take: Ticket to Curlew, Sea Star, Stormbreaker, Tuck Everlasting

Books that we put in: The Time Machine, Just So Stories, Digging Up the Past (Wishbone #6), Black Horses for the King

Journal Entry 13 by wingDove-i-Libriwing from Cape Coral, Florida USA on Saturday, June 5, 2004
A note from Mom:

The little librettos (Pete and Neil) will be reading some of the books that they will be putting back in the box, so we will keep it another week or so. They haven't decided which books they will keep for themselves yet. The box came just in time for Pizza Hut's local summer reading program. When they read 4 books, they fill out a form and bring it in, they get a free personal pan pizza, and 2 tickets to a local minor league baseball game. Gotta love these reading incentives! *grin*

Added 6/29/04: So far, they have earned 10 tickets! We've already seen one game, and will go to another on July 6th!

Contacting the next person on the list, WarEagle78, for their Real World address so we can pack the box and send it out to them!

Journal Entry 14 by wingDove-i-Libriwing from Cape Coral, Florida USA on Sunday, July 11, 2004
We are mailing this box out tomorrow, Monday, July 12, 2004 at lunchtime. I held onto it for a while, I'm sorry. But the boys read some of the books and put them back, we added some new ones, and now it will be on its way to ALABAMA!!!

Journal Entry 15 by WarEagle78 from Opelika, Alabama USA on Friday, July 16, 2004
The Boy's Bookbox arrived in Alabama today! Thanks for sending it on DoveiLibri. We've selected a couple and IF my son can decide which of his own books he's willing to part with, we'll bundle it back up and get it on the road soon.

Journal Entry 16 by WarEagle78 from Opelika, Alabama USA on Thursday, August 5, 2004
The box went in the mail today. What fun, thanks for including us!

We took out Just So Stories and Black Horses for the King. There was plenty of room, so we added Frindle, Henry & Ribsy, On My Honor, Rascal, Arrow Over the Door and Sign of the Beaver.

Although I don't have the receipt here to post, I did sent it with delivery tracking, so there shouldn't be a problem.

Journal Entry 17 by jamjar from Mountain View, California USA on Thursday, August 12, 2004
Box arrived today and we are all absolutely thrilled. What interesting looking books. My son is in camp today but we plan to go through it tonight to see which we'd like to keep and which of his collection he's willing to part with. Such a fabulous idea--thanks so much.

Journal Entry 18 by jamjar from Mountain View, California USA on Monday, August 30, 2004
We've so enjoyed the box, waiting for Scout-Finch to get back home. Hard choices last night but they've read and replaced: Frindle and The Doggone Detectives. They've taken out: Henry and Ribsy, The Time Machine, Seniors: In too Deep, and The Case of the Impounded Hounds. And they are putting in: Half Magic, Revenge of the Shadow People, Atlantis, and Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. I've also included a mystery for Scout Finch( Murder Past Due). This really was fun.

Journal Entry 19 by legomeister from Sherman Oaks, California USA on Saturday, September 4, 2004
We were fortunate enough to get two Kid's Bookboxes on one day (we should go to Hawaii more often, or something...)
Unfortunately (in my opinion) legomeister's reading taste is pretty narrow and specific right now, and books need to be in the Capt. Underpants, or Dealing with Dragons veins..either way wacky and gross, or fantasy/mystery (that's funny, not serious).
We are taking out one book, and putting in at least two..last year at school ALL the kids were reading Goosebumps, so I rushed out and bought 5 or 6 for the meister, but he quickly decided he didn't like them (between us, I think they were still a little scary, hence the emphasis on wacky reading)..
Would love to be part of another bookbox - even if we don't take many books out, it's always like Xmas/Hanukkah, and always sparks a good discussion about reading in general!

Journal Entry 20 by wingcestmoiwing from Hamilton, Ontario Canada on Wednesday, October 20, 2004
Box arrived today :) Thanks scout-finch and legomeister and everyone else. We will journal the individual books over the next couple of days.
