Journal Entry 2 by Stoepbrak at Cape Town, Western Cape South Africa on Monday, June 6, 2016

An interesting collection of short stories, with notes about the genre, biographies of the authors and a glossary of literary terms.

My favourites were

• The Garden Party by Katharine Mansfield
• A Perfect Day for Bananafish by JD Salinger; and
• The Whites Only Bench by Ivan Vladislavic.

A Perfect Day for Bananafish was the best by far: beautifully written, with crisp dialogue and much left unsaid. A sketch painted by a master does not need to be coloured in.
