Got this on the last day of the Planned Parenthood Book Sale, when everything is 75% off.... a steal of a price!
it came out in 1978 and is compared to Watership Down and Animal Farm (the former I have somewhere and haven't gotten around to yet, the latter I've read too many times to count, dating back to 1969). I think it's just the sort of thing I need to read right now, and it'll be a quick read.....

I'm really not quite sure what to make of this book - to be honest, fantasy (and sci-fi, for that matter) has never really been my cup of tea, and seems to take me longer to read (especially as I get older - for instance, I read the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy twice in high school, but I don't know if I could even trudge through The Hobbit now).
It was a very well-written book, though I'm not sure it could lay claim to being in the same league as Orwell's Animal Farm (which I re-read with ease not too many years ago).
Will release or RABCK soon....

Its an odd fantasy of talking animals. I love fantasy but not talking animals. I'm sure a book club could pull great ideas from it, but I didn't see them for myself. So it frustrated me. On the other hand, I finished it, which I don't usually do with books I rate as 5s.
Will release it presently.
