Journal Entry 1 by karendawn from Lafayette, Indiana USA on Sunday, December 28, 2003
From the back cover: The world will end on July 27. Marina's mom is a Believer. So is Jed's dad. That's why they've dragged Marina and Jed to a mountain retreat with the rest of Reverend Beelson's flock. From the mountaintop the Believers will watch the Righteous Conflagration that will scour the world clean--and then they will descend to begin God's world anew. But this world has only just begun for Jed and Marina, two teenagers who aren't sure they believe in anything, let alone that everything they've ever known will soon vanish in a blaze of fire. Why should the world end now, when Marina and Jed have just fallen in love for the first time in their lives?

This was a pretty good book. I would have liked to spend a little more time with the characters, though. Sometimes I felt that narration switched back and forth too quickly between Marina and Jed.

Receieved this today from karendawn along with Enchantment and a gorgeous postcard of a faery by Amy Brown (that was so thoughtful, I love her work!). It may take me awhile to get to these as I've got several bookrings here right now but I'm not sure how long I can resist the temptation! ;-P Thank you so much!

Journal Entry 5 by Zarylia from Saint Paul, Minnesota USA on Thursday, December 30, 2004
It was a good, quick read. I thought there were a lot of issues that could have been dealt with in more depth, like Marina's mother and the Adam's and Eve's, but it didn't really detract much from the book. Overall a very enjoyable book and a really interesting look into religious cults. Thanks karendawn! I'm contemplating leaving it somewhere here in Thailand, but only if I can find a good spot. Otherwise I'll probably send it on to someone or pass it on to a friend.

Journal Entry 6 by Czersk from Roscoe, Minnesota USA on Tuesday, March 01, 2005
Zarylia gave this to me to read last week. I was shuffled amongst the other books she forced upon me and was briefly lost in the horrors of my overflowing bookshelf, but it has been found, and will be read soon-- I hope. Thank you Zarylia and Karendawn.

Journal Entry 7 by Czersk from Roscoe, Minnesota USA on Tuesday, July 11, 2006
This poor book has been left on my shelf for over a year, and still I have not read it. I must admit, I did give it a try last week, but I just couldn't do it. I think I have finally exited the wonderful world of YA fiction. In all truthfullness, it makes me sad. So many good memories with Caroline B. Cooney and Ann Rinaldi, and of course Jane Yolen & Bruce Coville. I shall remember them with fondness. I hope to find a good home for this soon.

It arrived today and my brother liked it! For someone who's so picky and would only stick with Hardy Boys and Harry Potter, I'm very pleased that my brother decided to give this book a chance! :D Thanks Czersk for this well-travelled little book! Update: A half day later, my brother's done with the book! Wish I were a fast reader like him!
