Bought specially for Unconvention 2013. My local OBCZ cafe was closed today when I went to get a few of the books from there to take to Queenstown. Looks like a bad sign but a newly opened charity shop in Camp St. Trentham will benefit from some sales.

I've not read any of this author's books recently but I know there are people who love them.

Amazon Editorial Review:
When a hurricane-chasing plane is downed on a Caribbean island, TV meteorologist Perry Stuart barely escapes with his life. But he can't escape what he saw on the island--and if the people who've tracked him back to England have their way, Stuart will have a zero percent chance of survival.

I enjoyed this book more than the last couple of Dick Francis books I read. I have read quite a few of his books and enjoyed most of them. After having not enjoyed much the last couple of his books I read, I was pleased this book brought back the enjoyment for his books. I thought I was tiring of them, but this book says I wasn't. Relatively little horse racing in this book, which was a change. It came over to me that the book could have got by without racing and horses, but it's Francis' thing, so a way was found to include them in the story, even if in a relatively minor way. They are like a signature.
