"The 'Eight Verses on transforming the Mind' is perhaps the most importante text from a genre of Tibetan spiritual writings known as lojong, literally 'tranforming the mind'. Written by the eleventh-century meditatir Langri Thangpa, this short work is referred to by His Holiness the Dalai Lama as one of his main sources of inspiration."

I’ve just finished the ‘eight verses’ and just love it.
I have made a pause on the reading because I had to think about of what I’ve just read.

Thank you a lot.

I’ll send to the next of the list right away.

Il est arrivé ce matin dans ma boite aux lettres. J'ai commencé à le feuilleter, et il à l'air plutôt intéressant.
Et puis l'étiquette BC portugaise est très jolie ! On devrait se faire les mêmes en France !
Merci !

The book arrived this morning in my letter-box. I started tu put an eye on it and it looks rather interesting.
And the portuguese BC label is very pretty ! We should have the same in France !
Thank you !

Il y a de bonnes idées et concepts, mais c'est trop spirituel et religieux pour moi... Je pensais que ça serait plus philosophique... J'aurais du commencer par un autre livre boudhiste.
En route vers quizgirl !

There are some interesting ideas and concepts, but it was too spiritual and religious for me... I thought it would have been more philosophical... I might have start with another buddhist book.
On the road to quizgirl !

I've read it and I think I understand what he's telling me. He was featured on a recent episode of Michael Palin's 'Himalayas' and he seems to be a man who has a great sense of humour and a great love of life.
Sent on its way to Auglaise.

Journal Entry 17 by EvaLowrain from Louisville, Kentucky USA on Tuesday, May 03, 2005

This book has not been rated.

I've been trying to finish this and just can't. I've read around in it and reread some sections, but I just don't seem to be in the right frame of mind. Sadly, I think my life's too busy to read this sort of text right now. But that's life with a toddler. Anyway, I appreciate the chance and I feel very sorry that I couldn't get into it. I do feel like I learned some things I didn't know from reading what I did. And I'll definitely be looking to buy a copy to finish one day but I don't want to hold it up any longer.

It's a great book to send out into the world.

I'm mailing it out Thursday or Friday to the next person. I'll update this post when it ships.

NOTE TO ALL BOOKRING PARTICIPANTS: ryushin is now listed under Sandbox.

Finished. Didn´t like much this one. It´s not so good for a beginner as it introduces some deep concepts. At the same time, for people who know the subjects are put rather abruptly and superficially. It must be perhaps because it´s made from various talks. I´m contacting the Stellarv now.

Wonderful book, very interesting, sometimes a bit obscure and complicating (at least when it comes to buddhist concepts and schools), but all in all full of wisdom and concrete steps everybody can take. I found it very stimulating.
Thanks Di78!

I really liked this book. I realise now I knew very little about buddhism, namely that it's such a practical religion. Thanks, Di78! I sent you the book yesterday.
