Lucy Christopher was born in Wales but grew up in Australia. She moved to the UK to earn a distinction in a Creative Writing MA from Bath Spa University. The novel she wrote for this class, The Long Flight, was picked up by a publisher under a new name of FLYAWAY.

While visiting her father in hospital, thirteen-year-old Isla meets Harry, the first boy to understand her and her love of the outdoors. Although this wasn't as good as her other novel, "Stolen" I enjoyed it very much.

I really enjoyed this story about a teenage girl and her relationships with those in her family whilst her father is seriously ill in hospital. I liked that at times each of the family members showed their less than perfect side whch made them all very believable and human characters.

Passed on to a friend who I think might like this and may even join bookcrossing. ;-)

This has been given back to me. My friend and her daughter both enjoyed this book. I have another BCer in mind for it now.

I think I am a bad BookCrosser, cos I read this last year but apparently DID NOT JOURNAL IT OMG! I did really enjoy it, there was the perfect amount of magic in it, and I also enjoyed that the characters seemed very real.

This book was released in honour of Becky (N-R-Jyzer), the daughter of ResQgeek who died on the 30th of June 2010 when she was struck by a car while riding her bicycle. She would have celebrated her 15th birthday on Valentine's Day 2016. During each of the last five years, we have remembered her and celebrated her short life by releasing books in her memory.
