I think I got this last spring when the used bookstore closed.
Another good installment in the Rizzoli & Isles series. This one centers on a mystery in the Crispin museum. There's a mummy that's a little more recent than first thought. When other women begin turning up murdered in very unique ways, it is evident that a serial killer is on the loose and he's been stalking his prey for years. There are plenty of twists and turns - even when you think you have it all figured out, Gerritsen throws a few more curves at you. I like it when you're kept guessing til the end. I also liked the recurring theme of love that is out of balance. There's Maura and Daniel - and he is loves her but his life in the church comes first. A new wrinkle is introduced with Frost and his wife - again love out of balance. Frost is a great character and I hope we'll see more of him as the series progresses.
A quote I want to remember:
"Motherhood didn't make you stronger; it made you vulnerable and afraid of what death could steal from you."

Medical Examiner Maura Isles is called into the Crispin Museum in Boston to help with the dating process of Madam X, a recently discovered Egyptian mummy. It becomes obvious that this is a recent murder victim that someone has tried to pass off as a relic.
Tess Gerritsen goes into in depth detail on how mummies are created and how bodies are preserved in bogs, and surprising to me, this part was rather fascinating.
Dr. Josephine Pulcillo, a young archeologist is the central character. Her credentials are genuine, but who she really is has been kept secret.
As Detective Jane Rizzoli tries to unravel this story, as more parts and more bodies reveal themselves, leaving everyone involved more confused than when they started. The reader will have to hold on until the end when that last the story is unraveled.
