I purchased this audiobook for $1 at our local FOL Used Bookstore in town. It is abridged and contains 5 compact discs.
I finished listening to this audiobook this evening. This is my 1st experience listening or reading anything written by Stuart Woods. I really enjoyed both Santa Re Rules & Heat immensely, although I most definitely enjoyed Santa Fe Rules more. Tony Roberts did an excellent performance reading each novel. I look forward to reading or listening to more novels by Stuart Woods in the future.
I also posted a book review about this novel on my blog, Captivated Reader:

Book 1: Santa Fe Rules
Movie producer Wolf Willett is shocked when he reads a report that he has been murdered, along with his wife and business partner. He's decidely not dead, but his life has been turned completely upside down. He turns to Santa Fe attorney Ed Eagle for help getting to the bottom of the mysterious events that took place that night.
I had read some of the Stone Barrington stories, but not Woods's other works, so I didn't realize until afterwards that this is apparently the first book in a series featuring Ed Eagle. It would be interesting to read more about Ed, since this book (at least in the abridged version) seems to focus mostly on Wolf.
Counting this as my 2016 New Mexico read for NancyNova's 2015-2016 50 States reading challenge.

Book 2: Heat
Wrongly convicted murderer (and ex-DEA agent) Jesse Warden is offered a deal: a full pardon if he infiltrates a dangerous cult in St. Clair, Idaho, led by former military man Jack Gene Coldwater. Jesse reminds me a bit of a less moral Jack Reacher - a lot of impressive skills and a quite a bit of luck.

2016 states read (8/51): AL ▫ CA ▫ GA ▫ ID ▫ MA ▫ MO ▫ NM ▫ WY
