An Invisible Sign of My Own: A Novel

Wow! This is a very unique book. Definitely unlike anything I've ever read before. I liked it much better than I expected I would. Bender's prose is sparse, but weighty -- each word seems heavy and fraught with meaning. She crafts a version of reality that somehow resonates with more truth than actual reality. Bender distills the beauty and heartbreak of life into her purified, lyrical words.
Mona is an interesting character, although I haven't quite decided what to make of her yet. She is simultaneously understandable and incomprehensible.
My curiosity is piqued enough to seek out and read additional works by Bender.
If you are in the mood for something quirky, odd, and different, this book is worth a try. I don't quite know what to say about this text, which is unusual for me. I think it simply needs to be experienced for what it is.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
If you aren't familiar with Bookcrossing, take a few minutes to check out this very cool site. Bookcrossers LOVE books, and more than anything, they love to read books and then set them free for other people to find and enjoy. I would love it if you would leave a journal entry -- you can say where you found the book or how you liked it when you read it. Then, when you are ready, pass it along for someone else to enjoy!
Thanks and happy reading!
