The Tarot Cafe, Volume 7
2 journalers for this copy...
I got this slightly-battered ex-library softcover from an Amazon Marketplace seller, so that I can find out how the series wraps up. It's the final volume of a series about a mysterious woman who tells fortunes via tarot cards, but things seem to get a lot more complicated... In a way, the episodic tales and the increasingly-odd back story remind me of Nightmare Inspector.
The artwork is simply stunning, btw, with all the characters being very beautiful (and most of them very androgynous), with large, liquid eyes heavily rimmed with lashes. The chapter illustrations include full-page images of different tarot cards, with notes crediting a number of different tarot decks for the inspiration.
This volume wraps up the series with a number of revelations - who really did what to whom, what their current motivations, loves, hates, and alliances are, and - just perhaps - how the characters might be able to get out of this mess. Many of the beings that Pamela helped in previous volumes make an appearance on her behalf, and there are some touching denouements - not least, Pamela's own choice in the face of all the angst.
Very entertaining series, with some really spectacular artwork!
[There's a TV Tropes page for the series that's of interest, but do beware of spoilers.]

I'm sending this 7-volume set to BCer azuki in Florida. Enjoy!
I was introduced to this series a few years back when I found vol 1 in the manga bookbox. The stunning artwork and the intriguing plot with its paranormal twist completely mesmerized me.
Turns out I am not the only one hooked on this series. GoryDetail was too, from the same copy. And she has generously shared this with me. Words can't quite express my surprise and gratefulness to this generous RABCK.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
