Eww, saccharine is a coal tar derivative? Ick.
If you ever wanted to know what vegetable Salvador Dali hated or what midday dinner at Sigmund Freud's house was like, you'll find a little bit of information here. There's also an index by name and a selected bibliography.

Off to satisfy someone's curiosity thanks to MaryZee's Biographies of Things box.
I am going to remove this book from the box. It looks like a nice pick up/put down book. I am going to replace it with Disease Fighting Foods.
Began this book yesterday and an interesting read so far. I have read the first chapter. Fits nicely as my pick up/put down book.
A fun read. It was perfect for my pick up/put down book. Now, where should it go next?
Enjoy! KTM book off to JennyC1230 to enjoy
Thanks for sending from the ABC VBB. This looks interesting. I love food and reading about celebrities and the things they like/dislike. I have to admit this book had me at Salvador Dali. He's my favorite artist. I'm looking forward to reading this before it travels again.
My Review: This is an interesting book. Here are a few things I learned:
*Hitler was a vegetarian.
*Salvador Dali painted a picture of his wife Gala with a lamb chop on each shoulder. Reporters asked him why, Dali answered: "I liked my wife and I liked chops, and I saw no reason why I should not paint them together."
*Einstein was a late talker. One night at supper he said his first words: "The soup is too hot." His parents were relieved but curious. They asked him why he hadn't talked before. His answer: "Because up to now everything was in order."
*Elvis Presley's died at 42 years old and his last meal was 6 chocolate chip cookies and 4 scoops of ice cream (2 scoops of peach and the other 2 scoops an unknown flavor)

First Line: "Eva Peron's 1946 visit to France was supposed to showcase Argentina's emergence as a major economic and cultural power. But the visit proved to be a lemon."

It looks like I'm not going to get around to reading this. I have to put other things first, including the decluttering of my home. I hope it finds a friendly reader.
