Assault with a Deadly Glue Gun (An Anastasia Pollack Crafting Mystery)
4 journalers for this copy...
When Anastasia Pollack's gambling-addicted husband permanently cashes in his chips in Vegas, her life craps out. She's left with two teenage sons, a mountain of debt, and her nasty, cane-wielding Communist mother-in-law. Not to mention a loan shark demanding fifty thousand dollars.
Anastasia's job as crafts editor at American Woman magazine makes life even stickier when she discovers the dead body of uber-ambitious fashion editor Marlys Vandenburg hot-glued to Anastasia's office chair. Marlys collected enemies and ex-lovers like Jimmy Choos. When evidence surfaces of an illicit affair between Marlys and Anastasia's husband, Anastasia becomes the prime suspect. Can she sew up the case and keep herself out of jail before the real killer puts a permanent end to her investigation? --GoodReads.com Book Description

That was a quick, light read. Just what I needed. Silliness and hilarity sprinkled with a goofy murder mystery. I'm not sure how well the whole premise of being the wronged, broke, over-worked widow with a communist mother-in-law, her own mother, two teenage boys, a devil dog, an overweight cat, a Shakespeare-quoting parrot, and a highly attractive tenant in the garage apartment will last, but it's making it through the 2nd book so far. Definitely worth the read time.

My Review: This was such a fun book! Lots of eccentric characters, crazy pets, and at the center of the F-5 tornado that is Anastasia Pollack's life, she's trying to solve a murder when she finds out she's a suspect. It reminds me of the Stephanie Plum series.

I couldn't resist the title! Thanks.
Light humorous mystery - who killed off Anastasia's co-worker with the glue gun? Pay attention to the running name gags, and the dysfunctional family - and of course, Anastasia is cleared in the end and the real killer goes to jail.
Not sure where this will wind up next.
