A Jack Reacher Novel : 9 : Somewhere in Indiana, six sniper shots ring out in the afternoon calm. Evidence everywhere, the sniper is caught easily. “Get Jack Reacher for me.” is all he’ll say during interrogation. “Who’s Reacher?” wonder the police. They find out soon enough because Reacher’s already on his way for reasons of his own. Basis for the 2012 movie “Jack Reacher”.
Book from Fine Books Croydon February 2013, to read and release.
From back cover:
"Six shots. Five dead. One heartland city thrown into terror. But within hours the cops have it solved. A slam-dunk case. Except for one thing. The accused man claims: 'You got the wrong guy.' After that, all he'll say is: 'Get Reacher for me.'
Jack Reacher lives off the grid. Lone righter of wrongs, irresistible to women. What could connect the ex-military cop to this obvious psycopath?"
FYI: Lee Child.
FYI: Jack Reacher - IMDb.
Directed by Christopher McQuarrie starring Tom Cruise, Rosamund Pike, Richard Jenkins and Werner Herzog.
A homicide investigator digs deeper into a case involving a trained military sniper who shot five random victims.

LOVE Jack Reacher ! And this is the first to be made into a movie ? Surprising, as they are all good stories, plenty of action, with a usually good, believable outcome. Yet it may be hard to see Tom Cruise as the 6'4" Reacher !
Yes, enjoyed this one, with the twists and turns, assumptions and discoveries. I also enjoy the 'snap-shots' of the different places and descriptions of the localities. Never boring !
If this is your introduction to Jack Reacher, I hope you enjoy it. Will certainly look for more copies of this one.

Caught by MrMarmee at today's meet-up at Green Sage Café, it came highly recommended so will be placed on to his Mt TBR.
The following is a critique from MrMarmee: skilfully woven plot, an absolutely compelling read right to the very last paragraph. Thanks for the recommendation Jenny-G.

Found at Gloria Jeans coffee shop in Greensborough Plaza about two months ago. Very readable, finished it in a couple of days, just took me a while to get on the website. I have read some other Jack Reacher books and thought they would make good movies but never imagined Tom Cruise being cast. However, I saw this movie on TV before reading this book and think that despite his short stature Tom Cruise did a very passable job of it. Remember that in some of the old westerns starring Alan Ladd they had to dig trenches for the heroine to walk in beside him so that he would look to be the taller.
Killing Floor and Nothing To Lose are also based on interesting plot lines and difficult to put down until finished.

This is an interesting concept cant wait to see where it ends up
