Merciless and laugh-out-loud collection of parodies on the 20th century classic literary works. The author imitates the original works' tone with impressive accuracy, and despite it's a bit too sarcastic at times, it's a good read for bleak moments.

I have to admit I haven't read all the 100 books reviewed by John Crace. It helps when you know the novels, or at least the authors. Some of the short satirical summaries are very clever and funny, the style of the authors well captured. Others I thought were viciously cruel. I wonder who/what this critic likes to read? Easier to make fun of masterpieces than to write them...
I mailed the book today to its next reader, Sintra, in Germany.
