More church book stall leftovers.

Journal Entry 2 by PDB11 at on Friday, February 20, 2004
Released on Thursday, February 19, 2004 at St Saviour's Churchyard (Brook St / Plymouth Grv.) in Manchester, England United Kingdom.

This is a strange little oasis among the city streets. The church has been demolished, and grassed over, but around it are still the graves of the churchyard.

Anyway, I left the book on what appears to have once been the steps to the church door

There's a story to this catch...

Obviously I'm not a new BookCrosser, but I don't normally hunt wild releases. I did find one once before, but that was entirely accidental...Anyway, today and yesterday have been a couple of those days. I had a job interview in Cheshire, which finished this afternoon. Then I came back to university to collect my industrial placement and dissertation marks, and to sort out another interview for next week. Finally I got to check my email and saw my release alerts for Manchester (I like to know if there are other active BookCrossers about). I looked down the list: UMIST, UMIST, UMIST.

What's been driving me mad is that I've been working between Stopford at Manchester Uni and the Optometry Department of UMIST for the last couple of months (and the next few too). Generally this involves sitting in a cupboard looking like I'm supposed to be there, and trips to the UMIST students union for food. And, since you are PDB11 you'll know that you've been releasing endless books around the very places I've been visiting - the union, the benches outside it, the railway viaduct, my bus stop and my bus route.

But I didn't see any of those books, even though I can't possibly have missed them by much.

So the final release alert I had today was for St. Saviour's Churchyard. This could have been anywhere, but the Plymouth Grove and graves minus church made me think it must be the one right opposite the back of the Stopford building. I saw that it was released yesterday, so thought it was probably gone, but seeing as I'd always fancied a wander around the graves there (not something I usually do, but I'm working on my family tree at the moment) I thought I'd pop across the road and see.

And there it was, just by the steps. And if that's not a bit of luck in my two day stress fest, I don't know what is :-)

(I bet this is the most waffly catch you've ever had...)
