I can't really make my mind up about the book, as I took a really strong disliking towards Valentina. I just wanted her to get out of the family and out of the book! Thus I did not enjoy the book as much as I had thought I would.
What I did enjoy was the family history that unfolded itself as the two sisters spoke together. It gave me an insight of the hardships of the Ukranian people that I did not have before hand.
What can I say about the tractor stuff? Well - I did recognise one of the names; Fergurson, as he designed the grey tractor that features in a Norwegian childrens telly! My son used to have a knitted sweater with this tractor on, now gunvor's son has it!
