cover:
Scotland Yard Detective Superintendant Duncan Kincaid and his partner Sergeant Gemma Jones return in another spellbinding novel of mysteries - one contemporary, one ancient - an investigation that will challenge them personally and professionally as no case ever has.
When Duncan Kincaid's cousin Jack calls from Glastonbury to ask for his help on a rather unusual matter, Duncan welcomes the chance to spend a relaxing weekend outside of London with Gemma - but relaxation isn't on tyhe agenda. Glastonbury is revered as the site of an ancient abbey, the mythical burial place of King Arthur and Guinevere, and a source of strong druid power. Jack has no more than a passing interest in its history - until he comes across an extraordinary chronicle almost a thousand years old. The record reveals something terrible and bloody shattered the abbey's peace long ago - knowledge that will spark violence that reaches into the present. Soon it is up to Duncan and Gemma to find the truth the local police cannot see. But no one envisions the peril that lies ahead - or that there is more at stake than they ever dreamed possible.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Sent to Icila for the February 2016 Book a Month offer.
Thank you catsalive, after a nice cruise the book is now with me. đ
I didn't resist the urge to read it on the go.
As always with this author the story is fine but what I like the most is the way she describes the places. I now want to visit again there with the atmosphere in mind.

On its way to FinalsEnd in Holland. Enjoy !
I received this book from Icila, thank you!
I enjoyed this book. In the beginning it was all a bit confusing, all the different names and switching from people's perspectives etc. But when I was accustomed to it I really enjoyed it. I thought the spiritual/supernatural/religious components were very interesting and nice to put a thriller in such a setting. And how it is set in Glastonbury with maps, descriptions and quotes from a different book, it seems convincing and not too farfetched for me. I liked how there is more than one story/plot line, there's a lot of "thriller things" happening at once. Especially near the ending when you really knew everyone and more things had happened, it became more suspenseful.
This book is part of a series, but I haven't read any other book of this author before. I think you can read this book on its own as well.

On its way to Camperfan (intl. RABCK from April).
And today I found this book when I came home. Thank you, BookishPanda, for sending it to me. Funny how this book has traveled from France to The Netherlands, to France and to The Netherlands again. I might take it to France in september on our next trip and after reading release it on the doorstep of an UK camper.
Sweet memories about the place in which the story was set. I've been to Glastonbury and climbed the Tor. When there was no festival mind you:-)
I enjoyd the story very much. I liked the mystery about it.
In the camperbox it goes and the first UK camper I see will find it on it's doorstep ;-)
