Now that I have finished this one I am very curious to learn more about Abraham Lincoln. From what I do know, this stayed pretty close to main "facts" about his life but added in Vampires. Pretty cool.

I wasn't sure what to expect with this book, there were lots of vampires and lots of historical facts. It was dry in parts and I was hoping the vampire bits would lighten up the heavy history, and it did... some of the time. Too much dry historical stuff for me, but would be a good read for anyone itching for a historical fiction book with Abraham Lincoln as the main character.

Picked up this book at the Calgary BookCrossing October meeting. I didn't particularly enjoy Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, which was written by the same author, but this an original story (of sorts) so maybe this will be better.

I was prepared to roll my eyes a lot while reading this book, but you know what? It wasn't that bad. I think what helped is how the book is written more like a history text rather than a novel. Though, sometimes there was a blurring of the two. I did learn a bit more about Lincoln and it was interesting to see how the author worked in vampires around key moments in Lincoln's life. I do have some qualms about the ending. I just wish the author had left things as they were. Now I'm curious to see the movie and how much they changed.
