Mass market paperback. Written by an author from Dublin, Ireland, this book takes place in the U S, primarily in Maine. The book, second in a series, is a well-written and complex mixture of brutal, violent mystery, many threads of which weave through the book to come together at the end; an exploration of morality and redemption; fascinating characters--I especially liked sidekicks (and felons) Louis and Angel; and an otherworldly aspect that beckons to the detective Charlie "Bird" Parker, who is struggling with his grief and guilt.

"Grim, hard-edged, and compulsively readable." - Publishers Weekly

"Keep your calculator handy for this excellent follow-up to John Connolly's Every Dead Thing. I don't think I've read a book with such a high body count... Dark Hollow is a frightening, disturbing, and brutal tale interspersed with great moments of dark humour. John Connolly is definitely going places." - Yorkshire Evening Press (U.K.)

"Connolly's honest but brutal characterizations leave the reader with wounds that need stiching." - Kirkus Reviews

John Connolly is my favorite mystery author and this is my favorite of his books.

Released to a friend for him to enjoy (and maybe interest him in BookCrossing at the same time).

I saved this book from a box in a barn where it almost certainly would not have seen the light of day, nor an appreciative reader, for a long, long time. Now I'm going to set it free! ;)
