This is a good tale of a growing up and time travel! It's well written and although quite a short book the characters have real depth to them.
Taken from the meetup tonight at Bookfrogsters recommendation!
Dearie me, I have been a bad BCer! I read this *ages* ago and really enjoyed it! I found out the other day that it's won the Newberry Award!
Taken to the meetup with Pippis at Pep & Fodder!

At times it's good to step out of your comfort zone and try reading something different. At least I promise to give this book a go!
Thank you for the wonderful meet-up over a coffee, bookfrogster & discoverylover!

This book falls into the category "I would have loved this book in my teens"! It was beautiful, though sad as well, but altogether worth all prizes it has won or been nominated for. The time travelling aspect made it a bit more exciting for an adult reader, without it the book wouldn't have stood a chance. The chapter names were great, possibly better than the chapters themselves...
I'm holding onto the book for a while longer. Will be offering it for the Prize Winners/Nominees VBB on Finnish forum... These are the prizes the book has won or been nominated for:
Andre Norton Award 2009 Nominated
The New York Times Notable Book 2009 Winner
Kirkus Reviews Best Children's Books 2009 Winner
Publishers Weekly Best Children's Book of the Year 2009 Winner
School Library Journal Best Book of the Year 2009 Winner
Booklist Editors' Choice 2009 Listed
Newbery Medal 2010 Winner
ALA Notable Children's Book 2010 Listed
Indian Paintbrush Book Award 2011 Nominated
Massachusetts Children's Book Award 2012 Winner

I have not met Slipperbunny yet. I hope too meet her tonight. Well, I thought that I want to read this book too. It is kind of mysterious and secretive story but I like it.

I forgot this was coming to me. =D But now I have it. I think the time travel thing is the reason why I chose this.

Wow, this has been about two years in my shelf already. But as I was reading some really heavy fantasy, I got the urge to read something fast and this is one of the shortest novels in my shelf. And I do like books for teens. I actually loved this book, it was pretty deep for such a short book.
Sending to a fellow bookcrosser.
