Journal Entry 2 by futurecat from Christchurch, Canterbury New Zealand on Saturday, March 06, 2010
In a mysterious manuscript found in her grandparents' attic, Bea discovers the true story of her mother, a German woman who died in a Russian labour camp at the end of WWII. But she cannot share the horrors of her discovery with her Jewish lover, the only member of his family to survive the concentration camps. Can one horror be compared to another? Does the collective guilt of the German people justify the continuing silence over the women in the Russian camps? Thought-provoking stuff. ^ ^ 00 =+= v
