Bookcrossing does not have an erotic fiction category! When this book came out in paperback, I was working on the book department at Tesco. Not since Harry Potter have we had to move stock that fast! All sorts of people were buying it. From little old ladies, busy mums to teenage boys who were reading it and giggling. This book got a lot of criticism but I think that it doesn't matter what the book is about. It got people buying books and reading like no other book has managed to do in a long time. Finally I've got a copy and am ready to make my own judgements!

I guess after all the hype I was left feeling slightly disappointed. It's much tamer than I expected and there is no sex scenes until at least 90 pages in. Maybe if you've never read anything erotic before then this would be enough to send you into a frenzy.

As a teenager however me and my friend found her stepdads stash of erotic books. I remember one being called 'Correction Squad' (I think), I borrowed it. Now that was a hardcore book. This is basically a chick lit romance with very soft erotica. It's not bad if you like that sort of thing, and I love trashy chick lit normally.

I did like the characters but found myself eye rolling at some of the sex scenes. She a virgin and the first time sex is so amazing she comes and it's not awkward at all, despite the fact they don't really know each other and she has no sexual experience whatsoever. Also the tampon scene in one of the last sex scenes in the book. Gross.

I'm also not sure why she stayed either, if someone I liked but hardly knew presented me with a contract and was stalking me all over the place, I'd be off. I can't help wondering if she would have stuck around if he was working for McDonalds instead of being a mega wealthy, private jet owning CEO. But maybe I'm just being cynical.

Overall this was okay and I'm going to read the rest of them as it didn't leave on a happy note and I want to see where this is going, but don't even bother picking this up unless you are already a fan of chick - lit books, otherwise there is a pretty good chance you will hate this.

Thanks redfox5. I've managed to avoid this one during all the hype. Not one to enjoy chick-lit I may well fall into your category of those who don't enjoy it, but will probably poke my nose into the pages sometime to find out... ;-)
