Claireece Precious Jones is born into a hard life. Pregnant by her father at 12, she shuts down. Pregnant for the second time at 16, she struggles to keep going, finding an alternative school that teaches her to read and write. This is adifficult book, with raw anger and sadness spilling through it. However, it would be very good for upper high school students to let them see and talk about abuse, expectations, and eventually hope.
