Just in case anyone's interested, the back cover reads:

Nick Gentry is reputed to be the most skillful lover in all England. Known for solving delicate situations, he is hired to seek out Miss Charlotte Howard. He believes his mission will be easily accomplished---but that was before he met the lady in question.

For instead of a willful female, he discovers one in desperate circumstances, hiding from a man who would destroy her very soul. So Nick shockingly offers her a very different kind of proposition---one he has never offered before.

He asks her to be his bride.

And he knows that this will be much more than a union in name only. For he senses what Charlotte does not yet know---that her appetite for sensuality matches his own. But what Nick learns surprises him. For while London's most notorious lover might claim Charlotte's body, he quickly discovers it will take much more than passion to win her love.

Finished reading this about five minutes ago. I'm at work right now, so easy access to the AOL is always a plus. This was another smashing Kleypas hit (as always). This is the third and final in her Bow Street runner series. I've read its predecessor, Lady Sophia's Lover, and loved it just as much as I do this. The characters are interesting, engaging, and witty. Kleypas' style is steamy yet intelligent. I loved the little quip comparing chocolate to love-making. The author truly does seem to have fun as she writes her books. And she does her research, too! I'd love to meet Lisa Kleypas one day, as I'm slowly working my way to reading all of her work.

I still need to get my hands on the first in this series, Someone to Watch Over Me. I really like watching how the lives of these protagonists, Nick (or John) and Charlotte, intertwine with the lives of Kleypas' characters from other novels. Not only am I referring to the people from earlier Bow Street novels (Morgan Grant, Sir Ross Cannon, Sophia Sydney) but outside of the series as well. Dr. Jacob Linley has his own novel---I'm almost positive---even though he's only mentioned in four or five lines in this book. Marcus, Lord Westcliff, is the star of a soon-to-be released romance, It Happened One Autumn. (Can you tell I regularly visit the author's website, LOL?) Gemma Bradshaw made a heavy appearance in Suddenly You, which was the last Kleypas novel I read (and also the one I traded for this book with Sidney1220, I think). It's like she's created her own little world. I love it!

I really shouldn't have read this book right now. Two bookring books sit on my shelf right now---not to mention my summer reading, Aeshyclus. It would be unwise to start college next week without having read it. But I can't help myself! Novels by Lisa Kleypas and Johanna Lindsey are my weakness, my Achilles heel. I can't resist them.
