Swedish children's writer Astrid Lindgren is an internationally famous author, best known for her "Pippi Longstocking" books. Pippi has been translated into 24 languages, and has sold several million copies in the USA alone. Mrs Lindgren has written more than 40 other books for young readers, proving her continued popularity. This is a biography of Mrs Lindgren's life.
I read this biography very quickly before it was sent yesterday, now I want to know more about Ms Lindgren! I really did not know much about her life, in particular how she began writing about Pippi Longstocking and other books, so this was a good introduction.
Sent to a recipient as part of Oppem's Birthday RABCK 2013 - hope you have a very happy birthday and that you enjoy the book too!
Thanks! I never thought this book would emerge from Australia of all places!! And in a very neat Aussie flag parcel as well.
As a child I've read Lindgren's stories from Pippi to Emil and everything in between, but I, too, know very little of the writer. So, looking forward to getting to know her now.

This book looked so tempting and a quick read that I decided to read it at once. It was written for young readers, but I didn't mind, I'm young at heart...
So many things I didn't know about Astrid Lindgren. I didn't know that Pippi was rejected by the first publisher. I've never even heard of The Confidences of Britt-Mari. But I'm glad Astrid liked the Children of the Noisy Village best, as they are my favourites as well.
It was so funny that Astrid Lindgren had gotten into Who's Who in America - perhaps they didn't know she was a foreigner...
We are having a BC-meeting tomorrow at the Helsinki Railway Station, Café Eliel. I'm sure this book will find a new reader. Thanks for sharing this book, ukcanaus!

I'm taking this along to our meet-up at Café Eliel in case somebody is interested. Won't be released wildly, so will bring it back if there are no takers (which I doubt).

I got the book at today's Bookcrossing meet-up in Forssa. I love Lindgren's characters so it'll be interesting to learn more about her. Thank you for the book!
I finished the book on my flight from Helsinki to Oulu on 28 June. Lindgren has always been one of my favourite writers - well, for several decades it has been totally impossible to grow up here in Finland without knowing all her stories :) Peppi Pitkätossu (Pippi Longstocking) is my favourite character and Inger Nilsson, the girl that was chosen to play her role in the tv series filmed in 1969-1973, was exactly Pippi. I recommend that you watch that wonderful series!
This book was informative and I enjoyed reading it :)

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
I planned to release the book at the Bookcrossing picnic meet-up we had in Ainolanpuisto Park in Oulu on Saturday, 29 June but I forgot to take it there. Luckily stinaP was interested in it so I gave it to her the next day before we left Nallikari and headed towards the Postcrossing meet-up in the centre of Oulu :) Happy reading!

Thank you for the book! I took it and will pass it on to Joika later, but first I will read it and so will my mom and my daughter too. We all have liked Lindgren's litterature, but at least I don't know so much about the author herself.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Wow! This was a very nice book indeed. Of course I knew already who Astrid Lindgren was but I didn't know much about her backgrounds.
My daughter didn't want to read the book, but my Mom read it instead. She liked it a lot too.
I met Taavina today to get some BC-stickers from her, so I gave the book to her.
