A follow-on to Pride and Prejudice. Well of course it was fine to be in Darcy's world again and the style was good. However, I felt the story was somewhat contrived - but again maybe that was following the style of the day.

Thank you maid-of-kent for this wish list book! I have been very inactive bookcrosser for a while and it was really nice to be reminded of this hobby and this community by you, great surprise!

I think this book was very well written in Austen's style, and probably because of that it was kind of slow-paced. It got better towards the end, in my opinion. Not much action, but I think Austen fans will like this.

Maybe I have to re-read Pride and Prejudice before reading this book. (I don't remember how many times I've read it, but it's always a good time to read it again. Yes, I'm an Austen fan.)

Well... first I read Pride and Prejudice. Again. And again it was touching, hilarious and clever. Because english is not my native language and the language of Austen is not very easy, it was also very nice to compare reading experiences now and then when I first tried to read Austen in English. But, this book by P. D. James. I like her other books, but this just wasn't my cup of tea. The style wasn't "austenish" enough.

The book is going to continue it's journey shortly. Happy reading for you, who found it!
