1981 Ballantine paperback of the 1969 mystery. This was on my list of best past mysteries to read when I bought this copy today for 10 cents from the sale shelf at Dimond Library.
I can let this go after I read:
1964 From Doon With Death [read 2009]
1965 To Fear a Painted Devil [read 2012]
1965 Vanity Dies Hard [n/a]
1967 A New Lease of Death (The Sins of the Fathers) [read 2020]
1967 Wolf to the Slaughter [read 2020]
1968 The Secret House of Death [n/a]
Edit December 13, 2020: This was okay as the old style English mystery goes, but I just skimmed it to end for time. I currently have this ranked at #1186 on my ranked list of best-read books lately.
