Urchin of the Riding Stars (Mistmantle Chronicles)
2 journalers for this copy...
Mistmantle is a small island, permanently surrounded by mist, lest somebody could find it who doesn't belong there or would mean harm to the peaceful inhabitants of Mistmantle. Which are small, smoochy, furry animals; chiefly squirrels, otters, moles and hedgehogs (the latter maybe less furry).
The cute animals are of the humanized type; they wear swords and coats and believe in the Heart, kind of a holy stone. There are a king and a queen in a splendid castle, maids of honour and chivalry - the setting is genuinely british and neat :D But there is also a struggle for rank and traitors who don't shy away from treacherous murder. The hero is a valiant squirrel called Urchin. It falls to him and his friends to save Mistmantle from a sad and bloody future ...
One wouldn't mind to read the sequel of this first volume. I greatly enjoyed the breath-taking, heartbreaking story - which is as exciting as any HP, but much smarter written. It's a book which makes you smile.

Because I don't have any books from Hakkalina's wishlist, and since she likes children's books, I decided to send her this cute story which is not very common and even bears an autograph. Enjoy!
Thank you for thinking of me and sending a big parcel to my home. It cheered me up! However so sorry for being so late in journalling.
