Damage

A free book! Since it looked short, I dug straight in (very naughty - you're supposed to wait for WBN itself, which is today!) Damage is a dark tale of obsessive grand passion: an established politician dives headlong into a mad love affair with his son's fiancée. It does not end well.
You may find this engrossing if you find reckless grand passion a noble cause. I don't. Damage was turned into a 1992 film of the same name by Louis Malle, starring Jeremy Irons, Miranda Richardson, and Juliette Binoche. I vaguely recall seeing this on TV but not being engaged enough to put down my crossword.
