This is my first BookCrossing "catch", and I'm delighted to have caught this book! I'm a big fan of Gail Bowen's "Joanne Kilbourn" series, and had been waiting to find this one -- her most recent -- at a used bookstore. I'll probably read the book this weekend, and release it next week some time. Thanks very much to whomever left the book at Starbucks!

For mystery purists who prefer to read a series in the order in which it was published, Bowen's "Joanne Kilbourn" series unfolds as follows: Deadly Appearances; Murder at the Mendel; The Wandering Soul Murders; A Colder Kind of Death; A Killing Spring; Verdict in Blood; Burying Ariel; and The Glass Coffin.

This is the most recent book in the series, and I enjoyed it quite a lot, though not as much as Bowen's earlier books. I miss all Joanne's kids, most of whom have grown up and left home in this book! I do recommend the series to any mystery lover -- especially Canadians who like to read mysteries set north of the 49th parallel. But if you're going to read it, hang on to this one for a little while, and read some of the earlier books first.

I'll be releasing this book at the Starbucks at 6th & Columbia around 10 am today, on my way to work (yes, it's Saturday -- don't ask.) :^(
