Read this a while back now but I remember really enjoying it. The story focuses on the power of place and the way in which it can evoke old memories. I enjoyed the suspense of not really knowing what had happened in the past, and the way in which the contemporary story melded with the narrator's memories of his boyhood. A pretty good read.
