I read the whole trilogy in a row, as they all happened to be in my tbr-shelf, and as the first one was that interesting, that I just needed to spend more time with people of Corduroy Mansions. The plot turned out - once again - to be very nice and full of new twists. I wish there was more of these books! ;)
We had a bc-meetup on Friday where I live (Northern Finland) and we talked about these books. It's a pity that only The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency has been translated to Finnish, because I think many of my friends who don't read that fluently in English, would really enjoy all the other books of Alexander McCall Smith.

Reserved to toukokuu.
Thank you for these books. I was checking my wishlist as I thought I had these book there but now I remember that I didn't get that far because StinaP offered this trilogy in Finnish forum and I accepted. More translations into Finnish would be great. I savour McCall Smiths books as he is one of my favourite authors and reading his books have a special effect on me. So I try to save them and not read too many in a row. But maybe it works with this trilogy? Thank you for recycling this book you kind BookCrossers!
I read the whole trilogy in a row... well I had a little break before I started reading this last part.
I was wondering how McCall Smith will end all the storylines and I wonder if he was himself wondering about that on page 242 when he writes "a novelist might tie up all remaining loose ends, but life did not necessarily do the same. The circumstances that came about often petered out in a lame way; characters who had been central to the narrative simply went away, sometimes without any explanation."
Some characters had left Corduroy Mansions, Jenny and Dee were gone. But I enjoyed the story that imitated life in a nice way. And then there were something rather imaginative and humorous that happens in the end.
Well, actually that is already hinted on page 242: "Barbara had read her Iris Murdoch, and remembered that in one of her novels, after some sort of resolution has come to all but one of the characters, the remaining person in the tale - an echt psychopath - has yet to be dealt with. He has to change: he has to become good. But how is this to be achieved? Let incredulity be strained, even to breaking point: he sees a flying saucer and is utterly transformed morally."

Thank you for the book, looking forward to reading it!
A throughly enjoyable McCall Smith -book, once again. Light and Easy, though with couple of surprisingly dark twists.
Thank you for the book, kind Bookcrossers!
Somehow I did not enjoy this book as much as I usually enjoy Alexander McCall Smith´s books. Nice book anyway.
