Journal Entry 1 by wingerishkigalwing from Salt Lake City, Utah USA on Monday, March 11, 2013

Sending this little book along to be a journal for my Native American Shrinking Bookbox.

This box is both fiction and non~~mysteries, general fiction, memoirs, biographies, spirituality, tales of origin, poetry, history, SF ~~whatever, as long as it is by or about Indigenous America.

Most rules are pretty standard: move along in a couple of weeks (let me know if there's an issue), no trashed books, be considerate of your fellow bookcrossers, journal the box and the books you remove, please DC the box when you post it on. Oh, and since it's a shrinking box, please put in one less book than you take out :-D

But as I've thought about it, I do have a couple of "rules" specific to this box. One is: no more than two Tony Hillerman's in the box at any one time. I don't want this to become a Tony Hillerman box. Likewise, while I've OK'd YAs, I don't want it to become a YA box, so I'm thinking maybe three max. **

Both of these are really just part of being considerate of your fellow bookcrossers, and maybe especially so since each person farther down the line will have one less book to choose from. Remember, this is a shrinking bookbox. Don't worry though, if you're later in the list~ ~ I'm starting with slightly over 3 times as many books as participants, so even the last person should still have a good choice.

Starting out, the box is about one third mysteries with the remainder a mix of biography/memoir, general fiction , spirituality, history, essays, and one poetry.

Shipping Order:

**If the box arrives at your door, and books you have set aside to put in are already in the box, pm me, we'll work it out.

Received the box in the mail today but haven't had a chance to go through it yet. It's funny - I actually saw some of these small Native American Wisdom books for sale in Chloride, AZ, a little mining town we stopped at on our way to Phoenix a few weeks ago. I have some books set aside for this box so I should be able to send it on soon. Thanks!

How funny! This is one of the books we sell in the Anasazi State Park gift shop :)

Anyway, I'm so sorry it took me so long to mark this box as "arrived". I'm not sure how long it was at the museum, but one of my coworkers found it in a stack in our supply closet with a shipment of shopping bags!

Home again, home again, jiggiitty-jog. The box is home again, happily smaller than when it left :) And also happily, I only want to keep a half-dozen of them~never thought I'd hear myself say that! But time grows shorter before I have to move (and I'm still looking for a place I can afford that is animal-friendly), and I am culling ever-more ruthlessly. And not just books. EVERYthing. :( It's HARD!

So, thank you all for playing :D I'll likely only get a few books a day journalled, but will get through them all as quickly as I can.

Are you sure you want to delete this item? It cannot be undone.
