I spotted this book when I first got to America, but still had my other books to read. However, now I have finished those, I have bought this book :-) I love Teen trilogy books, especially The Hunger Games, so am looking forward to seeing what I think about this one. I am already 2/3 of the way through and I only bought it yesterday...that's jet-lag for you!

Just a few hours later and I have finished the book :-) I enjoyed the way the story has started for Cassia, Xander and Ky. There are points where I can see similarities between this and The Hunger Games, but not so much that I don't feel the want to continue with the trilogy. I already have a favourite, practically from the beginning of the story, and am looking forward (and hoping!) that I like the way the story continues. This book is available for anyone else to start the Matched trilogy.

Arrived yesterday... or was it the day before? Well, whichever day, it sure was a lovely surprise. The RABCK itself was expected, since you wrote to ask for my addy, but the book itself, a wishlist book, sure was a pleasant surprise. This novel intrigued me because it's a dystopian YA novel, and YA - if written well - can be very insightful without being patronising or pretentious.

I was going to leave this one to wait while I finish one ring book, but the ring book is a bit gloomy and I needed a light read yesterday, so I started reading. And then I couldn't stop. *grin* I am now half way through the book, and will most likely finish it this weekend. :D

Thank you, wal-89, for this wonderful wishlist RABCK! Very generous of you! :)

Finished in two days! Safe to assume that I liked it. :)

The books simply flows... I kept turning page after page, craving more, and more and more. I have to get the other two volumes as soon as possible and find out how the story ends. And while I'm not usually much of a romance fan, the romance itself here is a catalyst for something bigger, and an indicator of the state of the society.

I find the story quite relevant in today's world, when we give up our freedoms so lightly for a fake sense of safety, bit by bit allowing governments to over-regulate our lives. A few passages struck me as particularly current. Typed in white for those who don't want ANY spoilers. *grin* Mark with your mouse to show the text and read.

p.297
It is forbidden to grow food unless the Government has specifically requested it. They control the food; they control us.

p.322 (after an incident which has left people wondering and questioning)
The Official's explanation makes no sense, but after a short pause, everyone nods, accepting it.
